Shopify development for Belfast businesses, built around the way you sell.

We build, improve and migrate Shopify stores for businesses in Belfast and Northern Ireland. The scope starts with your catalogue, checkout, payments and the systems behind each order, so buying and managing the store both make sense.

START WITH THE BUSINESS

Choose a platform that suits the way you run the shop.

Shopify web design starts with how customers choose a product, not just how the homepage looks. We review your range, buying questions and everyday order handling before agreeing the navigation and page layouts. For an existing shop, we first check whether targeted improvements can solve the problem. Our ecommerce website brief helps you gather the details before the first conversation.

A new store

Plan categories, product options, photography and product information before choosing the layout. Give each product page a clear job: explain the item, help customers select the right option and show the delivery information they need before buying.

An existing store that is difficult to use

Show us where customers struggle or staff repeat work. We review navigation, product pages and ordering to separate useful improvements from changes that would add cost without solving the problem.

A move from another platform

List the information and features the current shop relies on. Decide what to keep, improve or retire before committing to a platform move.

THE SHOP AND THE OPERATION

Connect the sale to what happens next.

Buying is only one part of the store. Payments, stock and delivery need clear rules, and your team needs to know what to do when an order does not follow the usual path.

Payments and checkout

Agree the payment methods customers need and check the proposed setup, provider charges and platform limits. Include a failed payment, a cancelled order and a refund in the launch checks, alongside a successful purchase.

Stock and delivery

Establish which system holds the stock record and when quantities should change. Define delivery areas, charges, collection options and any awkward products before testing representative orders against those rules.

Accounting and fulfilment connections

Name the systems involved and the information each needs. Check the available connection, ongoing fees and who handles a failed transfer, so an integration has a clear purpose and an owner.

A SENSIBLE BUILD

Decide the essentials. Build them properly.

A migration needs decisions about data and customer journeys as well as a new design. We agree what can transfer, what needs preparation and how the store will be checked before the changeover. If a platform move is part of the brief, our store migration service explains how we scope the data, page addresses and changeover responsibilities.

Prepare the data

Review product options, images, customer records and order history. Agree what is needed in the new store and test a sample before moving the agreed data. Customer account access and any records that cannot transfer need a separate plan.

Plan the changeover

Map existing page addresses to appropriate destinations and agree how late orders or stock changes will be handled during the move. Check the agreed catalogue, delivery rules, payments and connections before launch.

Hand over everyday tasks

Walk through product updates, order handling and common exceptions with the people running the shop. Agree the launch support period and the route for reporting an issue.

KNOW THE BOUNDARIES

A useful quote explains the ongoing costs too.

Your proposal should separate development work from platform subscriptions, paid applications, payment provider fees and services supplied by other providers. Catalogue preparation, migration and ongoing support also affect the scope. Compare the initial work and the running costs before choosing between Shopify, WooCommerce and improving the store you already have.

ECOMMERCE IN PRACTICE

Build around the way customers buy.

Our 3D Candy wholesale ecommerce project shows how catalogue access, customer accounts and bulk ordering can support trade buyers. It demonstrates a buying journey to discuss, rather than a promise that the same features fit every Shopify plan or project.

ONGOING SHOPIFY SUPPORT

Keep the shop useful as the business changes.

After launch, you may need help with a new range, delivery changes, a troublesome application or an ordering issue. Agree which store changes Podium will handle, which services remain with their providers and how support requests are prioritised. Planned improvements can then follow the problems your customers and team actually encounter.

Before we get started

Shopify development questions, answered.

Can you improve a Shopify store we already have?

Yes. Our ecommerce work includes improvements to existing stores and rescues. Send us the store address and the problems you want to solve so we can review the right scope.

Can you move our WooCommerce store to Shopify?

Yes. We first review the catalogue, customer records, order history and features you need to retain. We then agree the data move, changed page addresses and a changeover plan. The review may also show that improving the current WooCommerce store is the better choice.

Will Shopify work with our stock or accounting system?

We need the system names and an example of what should pass between them, such as an order, stock quantity or refund. We check the available connection, its limits and any provider costs before including it in the scope.

How much will the project cost?

That depends on the catalogue, design, data move, integrations and support required. We agree a project scope and identify relevant ongoing platform costs and charges from other providers before work starts.

What if we have not chosen a platform?

Start with the business requirements. We work with Shopify and WooCommerce and can discuss both without making a move the default answer.

Can you help with delivery rules and payment problems?

Yes. Tell us which orders are affected, the delivery areas and payment methods involved, and what customers or staff are seeing. We review the store setup and relevant provider responsibilities before agreeing the work.

What do you need to quote for a Shopify project?

Send your current store address, or a sample product list for a new shop, plus the systems you use, delivery requirements and the main problems to solve. Include any launch deadline and who will prepare the product information. That gives us a useful starting point for the scope.

Can you support the store after launch?

We can discuss ongoing store improvements and support as part of the project. The agreement should explain the work covered, how to request help and which platform or application issues need the relevant provider.

What is included in Shopify web design?

The proposal should name the page types, navigation, product presentation, mobile layouts and content work included. It should also cover who prepares the catalogue, which payment and delivery journeys will be checked, and what training or launch support your team receives. Themes, paid apps and platform subscriptions need their own cost and ownership decisions.

Tell us where the store needs to work harder.

Send us the current website address, the platform you use and the things slowing your team or customers down.
