The website
Review the platform, hosting, plugins or dependencies and any faults already affecting the business.
We take over existing websites for businesses in Northern Ireland, including Belfast. First we review the site, the faults and the access available. Then we agree any repairs, hosting move and ongoing support, without assuming the website needs rebuilding.

START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE
The first job is to understand the site, the problems and the access available. Some websites need stabilising. Others need clearer ownership and a team taking responsibility for the routine work.
Review the platform, hosting, plugins or dependencies and any faults already affecting the business.
Identify who controls the website, hosting, domain and connected services, and what access is available.
Check forms, payments and integrations that the site depends on. Identify where email and domain registration sit before changing hosting.
BEFORE ANY MOVE
Moving a website does not automatically mean moving email or changing who registers the domain. The handover plan needs to describe which services change, which details must be preserved and who can approve the relevant changes. That work matters even when the website itself looks straightforward.
A CONTROLLED HANDOVER
Once the current position is clear, we agree the takeover scope and any hosting move. The plan should include a backup, the checks needed before switching, a way back if the change fails and confirmation that the agreed website functions work afterwards.
Identify the work needed to stabilise the site and distinguish it from improvements that can follow.
Confirm access, dependencies, the proposed timing and what the business needs to check.
Agree responsibility for updates, backups, monitoring and future requests, with a useful improvement backlog.
IF THE HANDOVER IS INCOMPLETE
A missing handover is a problem to investigate, not a reason to assume the site is lost. We have taken on sites without a cooperative outgoing developer. What is possible still depends on access, ownership and the condition of the site. We assess those before promising a route forward.
TAKEOVER OR REBUILD?
A change of provider is not an automatic reason to start again. We will explain whether the existing site can be supported, needs repair or has problems that justify a rebuild. Initial repair or migration work and ongoing support should be quoted with clear boundaries.
WHEN THE SITE NEEDS RESCUING
A WordPress website rescue and a straightforward change of support provider need different scopes. Tell us whether the site is unavailable, a function has stopped working or the main problem is getting help. Recovery options depend on the site, backups and account access; we establish those before promising a fix or move.
Before we get started
Yes. Taking over existing sites is part of our hosting and support service. We review the platform, access and condition before agreeing the work.
Not every takeover needs a full developer handover. We first establish what access you have and what can be recovered or transferred. We cannot promise access to accounts you do not control.
It can if connected settings are changed without understanding them. We check where email is hosted and identify the records and services that need to remain in place as part of the plan.
We plan the move, checks and fallback approach around the site. The timing and risks depend on the current setup, so we agree the approach after reviewing it.
Start with the website address, the main problems, your current provider details and a list of accounts you can access. Do not send passwords in an enquiry form.
The site can move into agreed hosting and support, covering routine care and future requests. Larger improvements are prioritised and scoped separately.
We will start by understanding the current position and the access available.
